Pueblo™ is a thoughtful, low-cost, comprehensive solution to help America's newcomers apply for asylum and work authorization.
Pueblo digitally gathers all the data needed to submit an asylum application.
The questions are shown one by one in an easy-to-understand order for the applicant, in their preferred language.
Complex questions are divided into smaller, easier ones. The answers are smartly merged with AI-supported proofreading.
The Pueblo form is optimized for smartphones. Help videos are provided for nearly every individual question.
Translation, along with the majority of the technology in Pueblo, is built on Google. Note: Pueblo is not a Google product.
Pueblo publishes, proofreads, prints, and prepares all applications.
Pueblo makes a digital version of the application, translating it into English intelligently and overlaying it onto the official government forms. Pueblo then puts this digital version through thorough checks for errors, using both human review and AI-based processes.
Pueblo doesn’t generate any content for the applicant. If the digital version doesn’t meet certain quality standards, it’s rejected, and the applicant needs to submit it again to Pueblo.
After the digital version is proofread, Pueblo prints it out and gets it ready for mailing.
Pueblo manages all mail for the application, notifies applicant of actions, and scans and securely stores digital copies.
Pueblo handles a physical mailbox for the applicant and serves as their mailing address for all applications. When any mail arrives, Pueblo opens it (with the applicant’s explicit permission), scans the document, uploads it securely to Google Cloud for the applicant’s access, and informs the applicant about the new message and any required actions.
If additional publishing, printing, and mailing are necessary, they are covered in Pueblo’s one-time fee.
After 150 days, Pueblo assists the applicant in promptly applying for their work authorization. This means they may be eligible to work legally around 180 days after filing for asylum through Pueblo.
A Minnesota-based team dedicated to helping newcomers succeed in America.
A mission-driven team.
The Pueblo team consists of immigrants to the United States, who arrived through various legal channels. Now, we are dedicated to giving back to all newcomers.
We’ve chosen to concentrate on the migrant crisis because we believe it offers the greatest opportunity to make a positive impact. Every newcomer has the potential to enhance our communities — our pueblos. Currently, the main hurdles are bureaucratic, so we developed this technology to navigate through the paperwork efficiently. Our goal is to help people establish a legal pathway and, importantly, obtain their work authorization as quickly as possible.
Rooted in the US response to the Ukrainian Refugee Crisis.
Pueblo builds upon the paperwork procedures of the American Service in Ukraine (ASIU). ASIU prioritized timeliness, accuracy, and providing accessible information to empower Ukrainian newcomers, streamlining nearly all paperwork processes.
While asylum seekers undoubtedly encounter significant challenges, we’ve discovered that with the assistance of Pueblo, these hurdles are not insurmountable.
Based in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
The Pueblo team is based in the capital of the North Star State, known for being a national leader in welcoming newcomers.
